New All Time Milking Shorthorn
Production Record for Four Year Olds

There is a new All Time Class Leader for Four Year Old Milking Shorthorns in Canada for milk and protein production in 305 days!  Sugar Hill Ruler Latte GP has recently completed a lactation of 13,457 kgs of milk, 446 kgs of fat and 418 kgs of protein in 305 days at the age of 4 years and 4 months.  "Latte" now ranks 1st all time for milk and protein and 2nd for fat in the Four Year Old category.  Her milk record of 13,457 kgs of milk is also the second highest 305 day milk record of all time in the Milking Shorthorn breed in Canada!

Latte is owned by Bob and Jonathan Howe of Sugar Hill Jerseys and Milking Shorthorns in Embro, Ontario.  Latte is sired by the Australian Illawarra sire Glenbrook Storm Ruler, marketed by the Semex Alliance.  Her dam, also a strong producer in the herd, was sired by American sire Meriville Peerless.

Other new all time leaders in 2009-2010 include

- Knoxdale Elsa VG, owned by John and Julie Knox of Fenelon Falls, Ontario, is now the all time leader for protein production in the Five Year Old age class with 362 kgs of protein in 305 days.

- Oceanbrae Pepper 2nd EX, owned by Oceanbrae Farms of Belmont, PEI, is now the all time leader for fat production in the Mature Cow age class with 543 kgs of fat in 305 days.

- Oceanbrae Princess Joe GP, owned by Oceanbrae Farms of Belmont, PEI is now the 2nd place all time leader for milk production in the Yearling age class, with 8059 kgs of milk in 305 days.
